Fighting with My Family Movie 2019 Free Download

Born into a tight-knit wrestling family, Paige and her brother Zak are ecstatic when they get the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to try out for the WWE. But when only Paige earns a spot in the competitive training program, she must leave her loved ones behind and face this new cutthroat world alone. Paige's journey pushes her to dig deep and ultimately prove to the world that what makes her different is the very thing that can make her a star.
Initial release: February 14, 2019 (USA)
Director: Stephen Merchant
Based on: The Wrestlers: Fighting with My Family
Production companies: WWE Studios, Film4 Productions, The Ink Factory, Seven Bucks Productions
Producers: Dwayne Johnson, Stephen Merchant, Kevin Misher, Michael Luisi

We see a family obsessed with professional wrestling, with two young siblings who dream of someday competing on the biggest stage in the WWE. One fateful day, the call actually comes in and a brother and sister are given the opportunity of a lifetime. However, when just one of them, Paige (whose real name is Saraya-Jade Bevis), gets chosen, it creates a lot of tension with her brother Zak. Amidst the drama, a great deal of comedy is sprinkled in. But the highlight is Dwayne Johnson being a good sport and going full-on as The Rock in several excellent scenes. Specifically, the sequence with The Rock berating Paige and Zak is quite great. Johnson had this to say about the project on Twitter, expressing his usual amount of passion.
Written and directed by Stephen Merchant (who also has a small role in the film), Fighting with My Family stars Florence Pugh as Paige, a young English woman who makes her living wrestling alongside her brother Zak (Jack Lowden), mother Julia (Lena Headey), and reformed gangster father Ricky (Nick Frost) in smaller venues. However, everything changes when Paige and Zak are offered a shot at trying out for the WWE - something that challenges their relationship in new and unexpected ways, as the pair try and make their dreams of wrestling superstardom come true.
Stephen Merchant (The OfficeHello Ladies) wrote, directs and executive produces Fighting With My Family. Seven Bucks Productions’ Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Hiram Garcia serve as executive producers alongside Andy Berman, Daniel Battsek, Tracey Josephs, David Kosse, and Rhodri Thomas. Kevin Misher of Misher Films produces alongside WWE Studios President Michael Luisi. WWE Studios are co-financing the film with Film4, who have developed the project from its inception.
Fighting with My Family itself will face off with the big-budget Alita: Battle Angel, rom-com parody Isn't It Romantic, and Blumhouse horror/comedy sequel Happy Death Day 2U, when it premieres at the U.S. box office next February. Fortunately, Merchant's film is a relatively low-budget venture and, thus, doesn't need to break the bank in order to turn a profit. So long as the movie has support from critics and good word of mouth working in its favor, it should become a commercial success... and, in doing so, give The Rock yet another hit to add to his ever-growing resume.
The cast includes Lena Headey, Nick Frost, Jack Lowden and Vince Vaughn, with up-and-comer Florence Pugh as Paige. This year alone she starred alongside Liam Neeson in The Commuter as well as in Netflix's recently released historical epic Outlaw King. But this biopic is going to give her a chance to shine as the lead in a movie produced by and featuring the biggest star on the planet. Stephen Merchant, who many know from his starring roles in the British version of The Office and his turn in Logan, serves as writer, producer and director, making this easily his biggest project as a director to date.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson plays himself in the trailer for Fighting with My Family, a comedy/drama inspired by professional wrestler Paige's real-life story. The film is specifically based on Max Fisher's 2012 documentary The Wrestlers: Fighting with My Family, which explores Saraya-Jade Bevis' journey to becoming WWE sensation Paige in an up closer and personal fashion.
Kevin Misher, Dany Garcia, Michael J. Luisi, Andy Berman, Hiram Garcia, Daniel Battsek, Tracey Josephs, David Kosse and Rhodri Thomas serve as producers. In addition to the trailer, the studio has also released a new poster, which we have for you to check out as well. Fighting With My Family opens in limited release in New York and Los Angeles on February 14, 2019, before expanding nationwide on February 22.
Wrestling fans will surely love seeing Dwayne Johnson back in “The Rock” mode, spouting off the signature catchphrases that used to make arenas cheer for him during his own WWE days. There’s a huge fanbase who turns out for every single wrestling match, and they’ll certainly be heading to theaters to catch what looks like the best movie that WWE Studios has ever made. Yes, even better than The Scorpion King and Jingle All the Way 2. Though it might not be better than Oculus (yes, that’s a WWE Studios movie too).

“Back in 2012, I was in my hotel room in London and stumbled across a documentary on a local UK channel,” Johnson said in the announcement press release. “Not only was I intrigued by this loving and wild family, but I also felt it’s the kind of narrative that would make an amazing movie. The Knights’ journey is a universal one that all families are familiar with. I relate to Saraya (Paige) and her wrestling family on such a personal level and it means so much that I can help tell their story.”
Based on a true story, Fighting follows a British family of wrestling fanatics, composed of Ricky (Nick Frost), Julia (Lena Headey), Paige (Florence Pugh), and Zak (Jack Lowden). The children eventually get the chance to try out for the WWE, where they audition for Hutch Morgan (Vince Vaughn) and seek advice from Johnson, playing himself.
“What are your names again?” the wrestler-turned-movie star asks Paige and Zak before launching into his signature wrestling persona. “It doesn’t matter what your names are. You walk around here, interrupting The Rock. You like you haven’t seen the sun in 20 years, you like you just stepped out of Oliver Twist. ‘Please sir, may I have some more advice sir?’ You want some advice, here’s The Rock’s advice, shut your mouth.”
Based on a true story, FIGHTING WITH MY FAMILY follows reformed gangster Ricky, wife Julia, daughter Paige and son Zak as they make a living wrestling together in tiny venues. When Paige and Zak get the opportunity to try out for WWE, the family grabs a once-in-a-lifetime chance to turn their wildest dreams into a dazzling future. However, brother and sister quickly discover that to become superstars, both their talent and their relationship will be put to the test.

Fighting with My Family is a heartwarming and smart comedy that proves everything is worth fighting for when it comes to family.
Still probably best known for his work with Ricky Gervais (and for being the weirdest thing in Logan), Merchant is making his solo directorial debut with the film, which tells the true story of professional WWE wrestler Saraya-Jade Bevis (aka “Paige”). Florence Pugh plays Paige as a young girl as she competes with her brother “Zodiac” (Jack Lowden) for a chance to go pro in America.
